FAQ's

WHEYS and MEANS...confused about Protein?

Why is Muscle Candy different to any other brand in the market?  We keep things SIMPLE. Unlike many of our counterparts, Muscle Candy guarantee to develop and supply a range of protein supplements that are completely ‘clean’ and 100% natural. But most importantly they taste amazing!

The Supplement industry is now big business so you may not be surprised to learn that larger commercial companies often bulk and fill their supplements with chemicals and hormones in an attempt to increase size of a supplement to enhance it’s flavour or make it more visually appealing. They do this to squeeze profits on their products and make more money, but it comes at a cost to your health.

Muscle Candy on the other hand will never engage in this kind of practice and with our approved suppliers, we can guarantee that the products we supply are manufactured and developed in the most ethical and natural way possible and contain nothing more than is absolutely necessary.

Is Muscle Candy 100% Natural? Absolutely YES! Our products only contain a very small number of natural ingredients and contain nothing more than necessary. Hence why we are able to achieve between 17-19g of whey protein per 25g serving depending on flavour variant.

What is Whey? Whey is the liquid remaining after milk has been curdled and strained.

What is Whey concentrate? Whey protein concentrate is possibly the world's most popular sports supplement today. Whey protein concentrate is micro-filtered and not heat treated to produce ultra pure protein. This process ensures that the protein stays intact and as pure as it can be. It also means the powder to mix easily and achieve a smooth texture, giving you the perfect protein shake.

I'm interested, but when – and how should I take it? First thing in the morning: Taking a protein shake first thing in the morning is a good way to get essential nutrients after eight hours of sleep. There are also a number of great ways you can use Muscle Candy blend besides shakes, including adding to recipes for protein pancakes or flapjacks.

Before a workout: When you work out, it's good to have a protein shake 30 minutes before your first rep to create an 'anabolic window', which lowers the damage to your muscles as you train. If you're taking a shake with carbs (like banana), it will give you extra energy and also reduce exposure to muscle damage.

Immediately after a workout: When training, the most important time to take protein is straight after your workout. Your muscles will then soak up the nutrition for muscle recovery and growth.

How many servings per jar? There are 40 x 25g servings per 1kg Jar. Each Jar contains a 25g scoop for ease of measuring.

Is the Whey protein contained in Muscle Candy Kosher & Halal approved? Yes.

Many people worry about the lactose content of whey because of lactose intolerance. Should they be concerned? Whey protein concentrate contains approx. 6 to 7 per cent lactose. It sounds significant until you consider that for every 100 grams of whey protein concentrate you get around 80 grams of protein and six to seven grams of lactose. We don't think that amount would approach the threshold that results in symptoms of lactose intolerance, but always consult your doctor if you have concerns.
